How unique is the Okavango, a huge delta of water flowing down from the hills of Angola and eventually disappearing into the sands of the Kalahari desert? A UNESCO world heritage site, it is one of the Seven Wonders of Africa; a place like no other, a garden of eden and one of my favourite places on earth.

Probably the most famous of all the hikes in New Zealand is the Alpine Crossing, or more correctly said The Tongariro Crossing. It goes up to the mountain of Doom (a still active volcano; real name Mount Ngauruhoe), across Mordor and eventually down to the parking at the otherside where your car or bus will be waiting.

In June 2017 we were 2 weeks on a Storm Chasing holiday with Cloud 9 Tours. A never to be forgotten experience. We traveled 10,000 klm from the Mexican to the Canadian borders, chasing the storms. Would I do it again? Absolutely.

We were in a hide in the Grangette Spring last year, watching a Grey Heron in the reeds heaving and pulling at something that looked like a stick.
